Daily Update |

Afternoon everyone. Today brought a few updates, hence the email. Firstly, we've arranged a “Cuppa with a Copper” in Morden's new coffee shop / restaurant “Tasty Twist”. This will be on Tuesday between 10-12 where you can meet officers from Merton Park, St Helier and Ravensbury. (Cuppas are not free, we barely have budget for a shared Jammie dodger*). Come along and have a chat, meet the team and raise anything you may need to. If you cannot make it, here's the survey link so we can show the skipper we are indeed sending it out.
Next we were on to regular patrols. A couple of visits thrown in for good measure, which included speaking with a vulnerable elderly gentleman, a homeless male and another victim of ASB (Anti Social Behaviour). Whilst we were at one, we ditched the two officers inside for a “suspects on” call. Foot to the floor, (as best as a basic driver is allowed to) to try and catch the reported burglars. SNT (Safer Neighbourhoods Team) were joined by a dog unit, two response cars and even a minibus filled with fresh faced new recruits. They were so fresh faced it was literally their first “I” grade call. (An I grade is within 12 minutes or less, so basically really quite fast. I feel that if you look up “Godspeed” in the dictionary, it would be what our highly trained drivers can go). Thankfully, there were no “suspects” and no “on”. Which was great because obviously the home was safe, but annoying because we would most definitely have caught a burgling bounder. We'd much prefer everyone safe and well, but to catch the crims red handed makes the paperwork that much sweeter).
More updates on the teams heroics to follow when we have something juicy to report. Have a lovely evening,
Dave and the team.
